Following her unlikely but welcome success on Broadway, Anaïs Mitchell finally delivers her eponymous collection of subtly infectious compositions. The years have certainly passed but while this album reveals a hard-earned maturity she still manages to show a vulnerable side: '...they treat you like a lady/Well sometimes all you want is to cry like a baby'.
