Bill Evans Trio's 'Waltz For Debby' on limited edition 180g purple vinyl 'Portrait in Jazz', recorded on December 28, 1959, was Bill Evans' third album as a leader. It was also his first LP with the talented bassist Scott LaFaro. Their superb chemistry, along with that of drummer Paul Motian, is evident from the very first tune. "Waltz for Debbie" is an iconic piano trio album, and the most widely known of all his recordings.

Bill Evans’ melodic meanderings never disappoint and on this classic live album it becomes palpable how intensely moving it must have felt to be in the room with such genius. One of our favourite live jazz albums. We just wish we could be seeing it live now, but we’re grateful for this excellent reissue that takes us as close as we can get.
