Following work with James Yorkston and Big Eyes Family Players, and a collaboration with Susumu Yokota, Nancy Elizabeth returns to her solo guise. Written and recorded in various remote and rural locations, 'Wrought Iron' at times feels aligned with classical composition as much as with folk and the singer-songwriter tradition. Built around piano and vocals, these songs (and a couple of instrumentals) are delicately layered and carefully constructed into a set of minimalist songwriting that should resonate with fans of Tiny Vipers, Essie Jain or Robert Wyatt.
