‘With Love And Squalor’ was the major label debutalbum from rock band We Are Scientists. It wasreleased in the UK in October 2005 on VirginRecords and charted at No. 43, with a large cultfollowing that enabled it to, after nearly six monthsof release, gain a Gold certification by the BPI in2006. The album sold an average of over fourthousand copies each week before it got thecertification.

The album title is derived from a JD Salinger shortstory, ‘For Esmé - with Love and Squalor’, whichwas originally published in The New Yorker andsubsequently in ‘Nine Stories’, a compilation ofSalinger’s short stories.

2025 is the album’s 20th anniversary, and for thisthe band have curated this expanded double vinyledition, pressed onto Pink (LP1) and Red (LP2)coloured vinyl, with the second LP made up ofnon-album tracks, B-sides, live and acoustictracks, and the artwork featuring unseen imagesfrom the band’s archive.
