First of all, after being blown away by last years 'Set The Pace' album I was really looking forward to hearing where he'd go next... To me, Lence is at the absolute peak of the self produced U.K. Hiphop scene and has many of the crucial elements to make me feel that from his powers of communication simmered into sick flows, the story-telling elements that go from frank introspection to keen observation all with the great production that screams out that this guy CARES about what he puts out. It's all with a genuine working class voice that offers not only a way out and hope but also a way in. It's inspirational stuff but it's not afraid to touch on the darkness too. Political, powerful and fresh this marries well to the boss beats and samples and I expect big things for Lence...Recommended! 6music take note!
