Karen Dalton’s 1971 album, In My Own Time, stands as a true masterpiece by one of music’s most mysterious, enigmatic, and enduringly influential artists. Celebrating the album’s 50th anniversary, Light in the Attic is honored to present a newly remastered (2021) edition of the album.
Nick Cave named Karen Dalton’s ‘Something On Your Mind’ among his top 10 love songs – I’d argue it’s the best full stop. Bob Dylan also called Dalton one of his favourite singers. And yet, only recently has Karen Dalton gained the appreciation she always deserved. This is largely due to the rediscovery of this epic folk album and a recent documentary of the same name. When I first started working at Jumbo, I was constantly checking the racks for this classic album and wondering why it was missing - finally this reissue will fill that gaping Karen Dalton void.
