Weyes Blood only makes commanding music, the kind that you can’t just have in the background while you’re cooking. It’s the kind of emotionally intense music that knocks you over with the full force of a tornado, so in the case of these tracks whose originals are very emotional to begin with, it’s astounding that she manages to ramp up the levels of emotion even more than the brilliant Soft Machine and Fred Neil.
