Further Information

Scott Hepple and the Sun Band are a Psychedelic/Garage Rock Band from Newcastle, UK.

The band favours a 60's/70's sound, with influences including Neil Young, Black Sabbath, The Beatles and Ty Segall.

The band’s second album ‘Lammas’ was recorded analogue with Maximo Park's Duncan Lloyd, and was mastered by the renowned Chicago-based engineer Carl Saff (Sonic Youth, Ty Segall, J Mascis).

“We’ve built on the Laurel Canyon-esque foundations of our debut, but our heavier influences and English folk influences both come through far more this time around” Scott says. “It’s much darker and heavier than the sun-drenched album we put out last year”.

After releasing debut ‘Ashes to Wildflowers’ in 2023 and playing an extensive tour of the UK and Europe with support shown by Third Man Records, Rough Trade, Louder than War, Shindig and many others, the band have released two singles in 2024 (Sun and Moon, Junction) and are hitting the road again to promote ‘Lammas’. Playing mostly headline dates around UK/Europe, they will also be sharing the stage with renowned acts LOVE and Acid Mothers Temple.

It's impossible not to fall into Scott Hepples psychedelic web of sound. From his earlier sunshine Canyon grooves to their new album which freaks out nicely with frugging heavy rock and freak-folk sounds.

We've been fans for a while now and recommend them to anyone digging the current psych scene and we reckon they're going to freak out the squares and wow the heads!
