Released in 1993, 'Debut' is Bjork's first solo album following the break-up of the Sugarcubes. Co-produced by Nellee Hooper, who had previously worked his magic on the debut long players of Soul II Soul and Massive Attack, 'Debut' finds Bjork in playful, expansive mood. An explosion of sounds and ideas, taking in house, electronica, ambience, neo-classical, modern jazz, cinematica and downbeat, the album works well as a cohesive whole.
