+ Spiral + Hexama

Friday 12th February 2027

DOORS 7-10:30 p.m

worriedaboutsatan

worriedaboutsatan as a live band has always been a unique proposition: in the early days it was a mixture of guitar histrionics and glitch-heavy electronica, in the middle days it was a tightly wound mixture of swirling, ambient textures, post-rock heaviness and pounding techno influenced rhythm.

These days, the sound has evolved further, now a loosely semi-improvised set which takes in everything from the previous two decades of the band’s existence and rearranges them into something brand new via gurgling synths, cavernous guitar atmospherics and soaring violin passages.

Spiral

Spiral is the duo of Teresa Winter and Tom James Scott. In a performance setting they experiment with loose, evolving structures, moving between organ, guitar, violin, bass and vocals.

Yorkshire-based composer and musicologist, Teresa Winter, is a mainstay on prism-pushing experimental labels Night School, Death of Rave, Kashual Plastik, and Do You Have Peace?. With a doctorate on the vitally important English composer and electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire, her work exists in conversation with the sonic and technological legacies of modernism and esoteric ritual.

Tom James Scott is a musician from the North-West coast of England, currently residing in West Yorkshire. As an instrumentalist he primarily focuses on guitar and piano, while also employing samplers, keyboards, prepared strings, percussion and an array of analogue and digital production techniques to create an intimate, often diaristic sound world. Since 2007 he has published solo recordings through a number of labels including Alter, xquisite releases, Students of Decay, Where To Now?, and his own Skire imprint.

Hexama

Hexama are a Bradford based trio who operate in a space all their own, landing somewhere between ambient, kosmische and post-rock. Burning right on the fringes of each genre, they unfurl layers of hazy Berlin School atmosphere, frenetic, driving rhythm and reverb-heavy guitar to create something truly unique.
