The Tubs were formed by two of the primary songwriters from the pop group Joanna Gruesome-Owen 'O' Williams & George 'GN' Nicholls-with the view of expanding the dimensions of their 'jubilant' (New York Times), 'hook stuffed' (Pitchfork) compositions. The ‘Tubullar Sound’s breadth is wide, absorbing influences that range from Flying Nun jangle, to needling Post Punk and traditional British Folk music. The Tubs try to locate The Ignorant Sound on debut single I Don't Know How it Works. An admission of pure incomprehension, The Tubs spend 2.30 minutes sonically failing to grasp almost every aspect of modern existence. Operating a simple can opener? They don't know how it works. Logging on to their favourite 'chatting app'? They don't know how it works. Creating jangle music under a regime of Capitalist Realism? They simply don't know how it works. I Don't Know how it Works/Silver Moon will be released as a 7" single in March with artwork by George Nicholls on Prefect Records. The single will be taken to press by Alex Cull of Brace Yourself -coverage confirmed from DIY, Best Fit & NME -likely support from Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Pitchfork and Paste magazine too.The band have been invited to take part in BBC Wales Radio Session, and Huw Stephens will support on Radio 1 and 6.Booking a UK tour for later in the year, and playing Indietracks amongst other DIY indie festivals. Tracklist -I Don't Know how it Works / Silver Moon
